Shuffle up and Deal!

As of the beginning of April 2022, the regulated Online Gambling market of Ontario was born. For poker players, this is exciting because it means we have regulated Online Poker inside the province, and the major operators will be competing for the market share with attractive promotions. For the first time in history, we can play online poker and truly know our funds are safe with licensed operators registered with IGaming Ontario. The days of rolling the dice with offshore sites and rogue operators are over. It's time to get in the action and experience the Ontario poker boom.

While heavyweight GGPoker unveiled their WSOP.ca offerings later than everyone else; they have negated that first-mover advantage and become the top room in Ontario measured by cash game traffic according to Poker Industry Pro. Those first movers in the market were the familiar 888Poker as well as bwin . Both of these Ontario online poker offerings are reviewed extensively here on OntarioPoker.ca.  BetMGM and PartyPoker are skins of the same network as bwin. There are games for small and big bankrolls alike, and even if you have no bankroll, the freeroll selection on 888poker is a wonderful place to start. The value right now is up for grabs guys. You're missing out if you aren't taking advantage of the opportunity to build your bankroll that these Ontario poker sites are providing right now in the way of sign-up bonuses and other goodies like overlays.

Launching a couple of months after those first movers but earlier than WSOP.ca was Pokerstars Ontario, with an expected strong lineup of MTTs and cash games. Predictably gathering a sizeable market share, they started with an Ontario Poker series right out the gates which was a promising sign of things to come, as it was followed up with the ONCOOP series with over $2 million in prize pools.

Ontario has always been a hotbed of poker action within the country and many of the top Canadian players were born here, like Daniel Negreanu. While it may be possible in the future for the player pool to get combined with other markets in Canada, for now, the competition is narrowed down solely to the Ontario poker market. This means the field sizes aren't huge, but the games are running and the field sizes are beatable. The cash games are wilder than we'd have expected and we are excited for what is still to come.

We here at OntarioPoker.ca will be covering the Ontario poker market, Online and Live. We bring you unbiased reviews and promotions from the legal Ontario poker market as well as the best place to explore and compare the Live poker destinations Ontario has to offer. We'll keep you up to date on what's going on in Ontario when it comes to all things Poker. If you're an Ontario poker player, we invite you to join our community and start a discussion. This site is brand new, so you might not see anyone there yet but I hope you want to help me get it started. It would be nice to have a place where the Ontario Poker Community can come together, discuss, network and hang out with each other. See you there or See you at the tables!
