bwin Ontario Micro Series

Currently taking place from June 11 to 26, the bwin Ontario Micro Series has garnered considerable attention among poker enthusiasts in the province. This highly anticipated series offers an impressive combined guarantee of CAD $200,000, featuring a lineup of 88 numbered events and over 200 individual tournaments.

The Micro Series aims to cater to players with varying budgets, providing a range of buy-in options starting from CAD $0.11 and going up to CAD $265. Despite its affordability, the series maintains a competitive structure similar to more prestigious tournaments, with events categorized into Low, Medium, and High buy-in tiers. This ensures a diverse selection of over 200 tournaments throughout the series.

One of the main attractions of the Micro Series is the inclusion of two exciting Main Events. These progressive knockout (PKO) tournaments offer players a chance to compete for generous guarantees. The Low-tier Main Event, accessible with a CAD $5.50 buy-in, boasts a guaranteed prize pool of CAD $3,000. Meanwhile, the High-tier Main Event, featuring a more substantial CAD $55 buy-in, offers an impressive guarantee of CAD $25,000.

Qualifying for the Main Events is possible through multiple Day 1 flights that run daily until June 26. Players who survive the flights will converge on June 26 to compete for the coveted titles. To make participation more accessible, sub-satellites are available with buy-ins as low as 55 cents, providing an opportunity for players to secure their seats.

In addition to the Main Events, the Micro Series showcases various other captivating tournaments. Noteworthy highlights include the PKOpener events, renowned for their bounty format. Offering buy-ins of CAD $0.55, $11, and $55, these tournaments guarantee respective prize pools of CAD $50, $1,500, and $5,000.

As the series progresses, players can look forward to the highly anticipated Super High Roller tournament. With a buy-in of CAD $265, this 7-max PKO event represents one of the largest guarantees of the series. Satellites are available for as little as 1 cent, offering players a chance to secure their spot in this prestigious tournament.

The Micro Series also caters to a wide range of player preferences with its diverse tournament formats. From 6-max, 7-max, and 8-max tournaments to engaging Progressive Knockouts (PKOs) and Pot Limit Omaha (PLO) contests, there is something for everyone. Whether players prefer deepstacks, turbos, or hypers, the Micro Series promises a thrilling experience.

Notably, the series offers unique PKO variations such as the Ultra version, where 75% of the buy-in contributes to the bounty pool instead of the usual 50%. Another variation is the Total KO edition, where the entire buy-in goes toward the bounty pool, allowing players to exclusively compete for bounties throughout the tournament.

As of the current date, June 18, the bwin Ontario Micro Series is still ongoing, providing poker enthusiasts with a fantastic opportunity to showcase their skills and compete for significant prizes. With its diverse range of tournaments and accessible buy-ins, the Micro Series continues to captivate players throughout the province.
